Sofia was our third station on the Cupid's Spoon Europe 2023 β€žtourβ€œ. On 25th February our gastro-truck hosted fantastic competitors from Bulgaria, some of them traveling for more than 400 kilometres, all the way from Varna, city on the Black sea coast, just to be able to show their talents. Out of all the candidates, Nikolay Begou in cocktail shaking category and Irina Arabadjieva in cooking category won the titles of the best and entered the semi-final competition which will be held in September in Zagreb. π–πžπ₯𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 π‚π«π¨πšππ’πš, Nikolai and Irina! π“π‡π€ππŠ π˜πŽπ” to the members of the jury led by Msgr. Rumen Stanev (who was also a great host during our stay), Mrs. Melita Fabrio from Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia in Sofia and Ms. Simona Krčmarova, translator of Croatian ambassador. It was not an easy task for them as they had to taste so many different delicacies and pick just two laureates. We made the final decision on who will represent Bulgaria at the semi-final competition in Zagreb after a long deliberation. Congratulations to all the competitors for their courage and for pushing their own limits. And a big thank you to Msgr. Rumen Stanev for being a great host and for his effort in helping us organize the competition in Sofia and to Mrs. Jasna Ognjanovac, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Bulgaria for her support.

The Bucharest competition started at high noon on 4th March. Thanks to Bucharest Caritas, our special guests were refugees from Ukraine who also acted as jury for our competitors. More than 50 parents with children attended the competition, and our candidates, together with members of our team, did our best to wish them a warm welcome and serve them a tasty lunch. The event was supported by Archbishop, Mons. Aurel Percă, just a day before his departure to mission in Africa, father Eduard Giurgi, and Croatian ambassador to Romania, Mrs. Marija Kapitanović.Our candidates were all great and it was really a difficult task for the jury to select the best ones, but Margareta Ioana Iorbachi in cooking category and Costel Manjescu in cocktail shaking category won the titles of the best and will be our guests and candidates representing Romania for the semi-final competition in Zagreb in September.
